Concept

Concept

Our project is enabling independence, expanding the navigation area and enabling spontaneity in every day life. By creating a community-based platform for navigation, we inspire our users to go beyond their boundries.

The concept is scalable for other potential users, like people with strollers, inline-skaters or people with temporary disabilities.

Research Methods

Research Methods

We devided the research into three parts:

  1. Desk research, Evaluation of latest technologies, Market analysis, and investigating communities online.

  1. Interviewing experts, fieldworkers and mobility impaired people.

  2. Experimental research, Product testing, Observing in public places, and Conducting embodied experiments.

With the gained insights we could develop user journeys to use for our concept development.

Interviews & Experimental Research

We interviewed Jan Cookman, a Zurich-based talkshow host, about his daily journeys and interests.

We also consumed Pippa Stacey's content, as she actively opens the conversation and spreading awareness.

Additionally, we went through a daily life in a AgeMan® Suit and completed several tasks in public to experience limited mobility first hand and documenting the pain-points and road blocks.

We want ROUTY to create a community platform, where people get encouraged to go outside and engage with the local community. We want the users to be part of it.

The community is flagging obstacles, reviewing public places and marking charging stations. The routes are accessibility-based, calculating paths over suitable pavements and adjusting around obstacles.
